Well , if you have done Sales ever, this blog will make sense to you. In case you haven’t , its still a good read. This morning I walked into office all charged up for the day, oozing tonnes of positive energy, with a bank of good leads. Clients were talking to me instead of just listening to me. There, for a moment I felt lucky and praised my good luck. In retrospect, I realise there is no luck involved (at least in sales). Its all about “being at the right place at the right time”. And the only way to be there is solid perseverance.
One needs to leave no stone unturned. Followup , Followup ,Followup. Sell a bit of yourself , your sincerity before pitching the product. Things will turn around, long forgotten people will call you, cold leads will become hot again and you will start feeling “lucky”. So my judgment says, there is no Luck , there can only be hard work which pays off someday. And if you don’t agree…try selling !
I also liked this article from by Stephen Shapiro on the same topic – good read – about creating luck in sales.
